This past year, we entered the PPFA’s annual print competition for the first time ever. This is a judged competition that begins at the local chapter level where we were honored to win First Place in the Carolinas Chapter competition and subsequently, the POPULAR CHOICE AWARD winner at the International Print Framing Competition, the result of voting by 4,600 peers and vendors who attended the PPFA’s annual conference!
In this competition, every entrant is given the same print to frame, and work is judged for design, technique and adherence to strict preservation standards. Our entry, shown here, may be a little “over-the-top” for most of our customers’ orders, but it is, after all, a competition where an entry must stand out in the crowd. The frame is intended to highlight the print’s whimsy, bold colors and barnyard theme while incorporating certain technical challenges.
